An Ekiti State-based mini-truck driver, Adeleye Adeniyi, has said he borrowed N3.5 million to support the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Ekiti State House of Assembly member Steve Fatoba.
Adeniyi, popularly known as “Online Loan Man for BAO,” made the disclosure in a video circulating on Friday, in which he displayed a cardboard cheque showing pledges of N2 million for Tinubu, N1 million for Bamidele and N500,000 for Fatoba.
He said he decided to borrow the money because he was satisfied with the performance of the three politicians and wanted to mobilise support for their return to office.
“I have borrowed money because I want to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition. I believe he is doing a great job,” Adeniyi said, adding that he was prepared to campaign for the president ahead of the next election.
He also appealed to Nigerians to vote for Tinubu for another term, expressing confidence that the country would benefit further from his administration if re-elected.
Beyond his support for the president, Adeniyi praised Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as their contributions to healthcare, education, electricity supply and rural development, saying the interventions had strengthened his confidence in their leadership.
Adeniyi, who operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, had reportedly attracted attention in February 2026 after obtaining a loan through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s re-election bid.
At the time, he said his decision was motivated by his admiration for the governor’s administration, particularly its policies on education, healthcare and public welfare. In the latest video, Adeniyi reiterated his commitment to campaigning for the politicians, saying he was ready to take his appeal to the public to secure their re-election.
