Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, on Monday launched the Harvesting Hope Caravan, a component of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at boosting food security in the country.
Speaking at the launch in Ado Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji commended the President and NAPM for recognising Ekiti State.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming agricultural development in the state.
The governor also praised President Tinubu’s efforts in promoting food security and socio-economic development nationwide.
He noted that the Harvesting Hope Caravan aligns with the federal government’s agenda to create a unified and lasting impact on Nigeria’s food systems.
According to Governor Oyebanji, insurance policies provide crucial support for farmers affected by natural disasters and other unforeseen events.
The governor, who was honoured as a champion of the National Agribusiness Policy Mechanism (NAPM) in the Southwest, also signed an insurance policy on behalf of Ekiti farmers to protect them against potential losses.
