Ekiti PDP holds LG, State congresses

The Peoples Democratic Party (Ekiti State Chapter) has held its local government and state congresses on Wednesday, describing the process as successful.
The party’s Caretaker Committee in the state hailed the congress as a success, praising the peaceful conduct and participation.
The Ekiti PDP Caretaker Chairman, Dare Adeleke, in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti, expressed gratitude to the party’s National Working Committee, INEC, and security agencies for their support.
“We are thrilled that the congress commenced and concluded smoothly without any hitches. It is on record that we started ahead of schedule at 8 a.m. and by noon, we had concluded,” Adeleke said.
He also commended the Electoral Panel led by Dr. Eddy Olafeso, calling their performance “marvellous.”
“Today’s peaceful outing shows how organised and dedicated the committee was in preparing for this congress,” he added.
Meanwhile, an Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti had issued an interim order halting the conduct of the congresses.
Justice E. B. Omotosho granted the order on Wednesday while ruling on an ex parte motion in suit number HAD/424M/2025, filed by a party member, Afolabi Adedeji.
The judge subsequently adjourned to May 14, 2025, for the hearing of the motion on notice.
