‘Ekiti PDP remains vibrant, will participate in June 2026 poll’ – Fajuyi

The South-West Zonal Ex-Officio of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lanre Fajuyi, has insisted that the party remains vibrant in Ekiti State ahead of the June 2026 governorship poll.

Fajuyi stated this in Ado-Ekiti during the distribution of food items to Muslim faithful under the Bukola Olanrewaju Fajuyi Foundation Foodbank initiative, dismissing speculations about the collapse of PDP in the state.

She faulted claims that the party’s alleged removal from the Independent National Electoral Commission register signalled its end, maintaining that its structures remain intact across all levels.

According to her, the PDP is united and operational from the ward to the national level, describing it as the only credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.

Fajuyi expressed confidence that the party’s governorship candidate, Wole Oluyede, would feature on the ballot, adding that ongoing legal clarifications had strengthened the party’s leadership position.

Similarly, the PDP Chairman in Ado-Ekiti, Michael Odeyemi, also affirmed that the party remains in contention for 2026 and would feature on the ballot.

Speaking on the Ramadan food bank initiative, the party chieftain explained that the food distribution was aimed at supporting members during Ramadan, while beneficiaries commended her for the gesture, saying it would ease the burden of feeding their families during the fasting period.
