Ekiti strengthens partnership with Promasidor, reaffirms commitment to business growth

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment that supports investment and economic growth in the state.

Oyebanji gave the assurance on Tuesday during a working visit to Promasidor Nigeria Limited in Lagos. The visit was aimed at facilitating the expansion of Ikun Dairy Farm, a key agricultural investment under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with Promasidor, designed to enhance local milk production and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imported dairy products.

Highlighting the farm’s economic significance, Oyebanji assured Promasidor’s management of his government’s readiness to address operational challenges affecting the project’s expansion.

He acknowledged concerns related to land, irrigation, security, and high production costs, particularly logistics between Ekiti and Lagos.

“We recognize the challenges and are working on solutions, especially in reducing transportation costs and improving infrastructure to make operations more efficient,” Oyebanji stated.

“As a government, we see Ikun Dairy Farm as a vital asset, and Promasidor as a key strategic partner in our vision for economic development and shared prosperity.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Francois Gillet, commended the Governor for his support and commitment to public-private partnerships. He noted that the government’s efforts had enabled Ikun Dairy Farm to scale up operations, achieving a daily milk production of over 6,000 litres.

Gillet emphasized that the project’s success demonstrates its potential to drive local economic growth, create jobs, and contribute to Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in dairy production.
