Workers in Ekiti State local government councils under the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) have donated N10 million to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election bid.

The cheque was presented at the Governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti, during a meeting with Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Local Government Administration (HLAs), and Directors across the 16 Local Government Councils and 22 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

The NULGE President, Oluseyi Olatunde, said the donation reflected the workers’ confidence in Oyebanji’s leadership.

“The gesture demonstrates our commitment to sustaining the progress and stability the Governor has brought to local government administration in Ekiti State,” he said.

Oyetunde highlighted achievements including payment of five months’ salary arrears, leave bonus arrears, a N70,000 minimum wage, construction of office complexes and the appointment of local government officers as permanent secretaries.

Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), Chief Alaba Abejide, commended the governor for strengthening local government administration.

Governor Oyebanji thanked the council workers for their trust and assured them that his government would continue to prioritise their welfare and accelerate development.

The governor cautions against misinformation on social media targeting his administration and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
