Elliot clinches Surulere constituency 1 APC ticket
The lawmaker, representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Desmond Elliot, has won the APC ticket at the party’s primaries to run for a third term.
The primary election took place on Friday at Akerele Primary Health Centre, Surulere amid tight security of Police, FRSC and Civil Defense Corps and DSS.
Elliot won the election unopposed.
The electoral officers for Surulere Constituency I arrived at 1: 55 p.m., while accreditation started by 2:11 p.m. and a total of 30 delegates voted.
The election started at 2.45 p.m. and votes were counted at 2:49 p.m.
The 30 ad-hoc delegates drawn from nine wards in the constituency were accredited and voted.
Announcing the result after the election, the returning officer, Mr Demola Omotosho declared Elliot the winner, having scored 30 votes at 3:00 p.m.
