Eno, Akpabio rally Akwa Ibom APC ahead 2027 general elections

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State and the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, led a high-powered stakeholders’ meeting aimed at strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The strategic meeting, held at the Banquet Hall of Government House in Uyo, brought together party executives, elected officials, political leaders, and stakeholders from across the state to reinforce unity and cohesion within the party ahead of the forthcoming primaries and general elections.
At the gathering, Governor Eno formally consulted party stakeholders on his intention to seek re-election for a second term on the APC platform in 2027, while Akpabio also declared his intention to contest for another term in the Senate representing Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.

The governor thanked party leaders and faithful for their loyalty, steadfastness, and commitment to the APC, while appealing for sustained support to ensure victory for all party candidates in the next election cycle.
“This meeting is called so that we can sit down and talk as a family,” Eno stated, stressing the importance of unity, loyalty, and collective responsibility among members of the party.

He further urged stakeholders to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible primary election process, noting that internal harmony and discipline would remain critical to the party’s success in the 2027 polls.
Governor Eno also announced the constitution of a committee to oversee the forthcoming APC primaries that would produce candidates for various elective offices, urging party members to place the collective interest of the party above personal ambitions.
Speaking earlier, the Akwa Ibom APC Chairman, Stephen Ntukekpo, described the meeting as a crucial gathering convened to deepen cohesion within the party, while Akpabio commended the governor for promoting unity, peace, and political stability in the state.
