Enugu Musician’s Murder: Court orders remand of Police Inspector till Nov. 12
Following orderly room trial and the arraignment in court of Police Inspector Ozonwanji Joseph, accused of killing Ogene musician, Chikezie Okezie Nwamba, a Magistrate Court has ordered his remand in the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre.

Police Public Relations Officer for Enugu State Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement, said the Inspector was found culpable and consequently dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force in line with the Police Act and Regulations 2020.
According to the statement, “He has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force and was today, October 28, 2024, arraigned at the Enugu East Magistrate Court for the offence of murder.
“The Chief Magistrate ordered the remand of the former officer in the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre and the transmission of the case-file to the Attorney General of Enugu State for further judicial action. The trial was adjourned to November 12, 2024.”
The accused was arrested over the weekend after the shooting incident that occurred around 8:10 p.m. on October 25, 2024, at the Enugu State Tactical Squad’s Headquarters where the late musician was killed.
