Ex-governor Ladoja to be crowned Ibadan king on Monday

The Otun Olubadan and ex-governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja is set to be crowned on Monday.
The event is scheduled to hold at the Olubadan’s Palace at Oke Aremo in Ibadan.
The Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, is expected to elevate Ladoja to the position of an Oba (king) in line with the revised Oyo State Chieftaincy Declaration.
Before agreeing to be elevated to receive the beaded crown introduced by the administration of ex-governor Abiola Ajimobi, Ladoja had been at loggerhead with the Olubadan-in-council and the Oyo State Government, refusing to join 10 other Ibadan high chiefs who had received the crown.
But recently, Ladoja, who had instituted legal action against the government on the matter, agreed to sheathe his sword and receive the beaded crown which elevates him to the status of an Oba (king) under the Olubadan, who remains the imperial majesty for Ibadanland.
