EXCLUSIVE: Outgoing ministers to handover to Permanent Secretaries before Oct 30

The office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has issued the circular to implement the Cabinet reshuffle and restructuring of ministers by President Bola Tinubu.
WESTERN POST had reported that President Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet on Wednesday as he sacked five ministers, appointed 7 new ministers and merged ministries for efficiency and effective delivery of public goods.
It was gathered that handing over and taking over processes should be completed on/or before Wednesday 30th October, 2024.
In the case of Ministries where there are no Ministers to take-over, it was learnt that the out-going Ministers have been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries.
President Bola Tinubu sacked five ministers as part of a long-anticipated cabinet reshuffle.
The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, on Wednesday following the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
Among the ministers affected are Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; and Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.
Additionally, Tahir Mamman was relieved of his role as Minister of Education, while Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo was dismissed from his position as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development.
The suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs was replaced by Nentawe Yilwatda.
Those moved to new roles across key sectors included; Yusuf Tanko Sununu from Minister of State for Education to Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Morufu Olatunji Alausa, previously Minister of State for Health, is now the Minister of Education and Bello Muhammad Goronyo moved from Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation to Minister of State for Works.
Others include; Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh moved from his position as Minister of Niger Delta Development to become the Minister of Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, formerly Minister of State for Steel Development, now serves as Minister of State for Regional Development, Doris Uzoka-Anite, who was the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, has been appointed Minister of State for Finance. John Owan Enoh, previously the Minister of Sports Development, is now the Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has transitioned from her role as Minister of State for Police Affairs to become the Minister of Women Affairs., Ayodele Olawande, formerly the Minister of State for Youth Development, is now the full Minister for Youth Development and Iziaq Adekunle Salako, who served as Minister of State for Environment, is now the Minister of State for Health.
