FAAN begins repair works at Akure Airport after rainstorm damage

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commenced repair works at the Olumuyiwa Bernard Aliu Airport, Akure, following damage caused by a rainstorm on Monday, March 3, 2025.
In a statement released on Thursday, FAAN confirmed that the storm affected the airport’s terminal building and control tower. It confirmed a team of engineers from its Maintenance Department has been deployed to assess the extent of the damage and implement remedial solutions.
The Authority expressed regret over the inconveniences caused by the incident and assured the public that efforts are underway to restore normal flight operations as soon as possible.
FAAN reiterated its commitment to providing quality service while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
