Fatal collision near secretariat claims 3 lives on Lagos-Ibadan expressway
Three persons have died, while two others sustained injuries in a fatal road accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The crash occurred when a car heading towards Berger on the Otedola Bridge collided with a truck near the Secretariat axis of the expressway.
Confirming the incident in a statement shared on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said three vehicles were involved in the collision.
“Three vehicles were involved in the crash, resulting in three fatalities and several serious injuries,” LASTMA stated.
The agency disclosed that emergency responders were immediately deployed to the scene to assist victims.
“Officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) are on ground providing medical attention to the injured,” the statement read.
It added that personnel of LASTMA and the Nigeria Police Force were also present to manage traffic and maintain order at the scene.
“Efforts are ongoing to clear the affected vehicles and restore normal traffic flow. Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the area,” LASTMA said.
