Osun: Accord Party clears Gov. Adeleke for governorship primary

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Accord Party has screened and cleared Governor Ademola Adeleke to participate in its governorship primary holding today in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Announcing the development in a statement, the chairman of the screening committee and National Organising Secretary of the party, Elder Ibe Thankgod, said Governor Adeleke met all the necessary requirements for nomination and participation in the exercise.
He said the committee subsequently cleared Governor Adeleke as the sole aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket and concluded all required documentations with relevant bodies.
The committee chairman then presented a certificate of clearance to the governor, hailing him as a worthy gubernatorial aspirant of the party.
In his response, Adeleke expressed appreciation to the screening committee and the entire party leadership, noting his preparedness to lead the party to victory in 2026.
“I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” Governor Adeleke affirmed.
Other members of the committee included Abdurahaman Muhammed, Abdulahi Sani Muhammed and Mrs Awogbade Rachael.
As of the time of filing this report, voting has ended and sorting is ongoing. A total of 150 delegates participated in the primary, with five selected from each local government area.

Madam, with all due respect, it is time to reflect honestly on past actions. We must ask ourselves: how many times have there been public incidents that raised concern about your conduct? There was the confrontation on the Senate floor, the altercation at the international airport, and the incident involving your domestic staff. As if these were not enough, you also publicly confronted Governor Adeleke, which many people found embarrassing and unnecessary.
By my own standard, I believe the honorable thing would be to acknowledge these actions, take responsibility, and offer an apology to the nation and to all responsible mothers who look up to you. The behavior was seen by many as improper and unbecoming of someone in your position. I hope that going forward, such incidents will not be repeated.
