FG partners Lens for Good Initiative to empower creatives, promote cultural heritage
The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy has entered into a strategic partnership with the Lens for Good Initiative to empower Nigerian creatives and promote the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
The partnership, sealed on Monday at the Nest Gardens in Guzape, Abuja, aims to strengthen national identity through positive storytelling, catalyse economic growth in the creative sector, and foster skill development through training, mentorship, and resource-sharing.
Under the collaboration, Nigerian creatives will gain access to digital resources, mentorship, and learning materials, as well as participate in workshops and training sessions on photography, filmmaking, digital storytelling, and content creation. It will also facilitate flagship film and production projects that showcase Nigeria’s creativity and cultural diversity.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, described the initiative as a significant step toward advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on economic diversification.
“This partnership is a key step in advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for economic diversification.
“It will nurture the next generation of talent within Nigeria’s creative space, and the stories emerging from this partnership will not only celebrate Nigeria’s cultural identity but also help reshape global perceptions of Nigeria and strengthen our soft power,” Musawa said.
She added that the Federal Government remains committed to empowering Nigerian creatives and providing them with the tools and opportunities needed to thrive in the global creative economy.
The Lens for Good Initiative, through this collaboration, will provide Nigerian creatives with the necessary training and mentorship to tell authentic Nigerian stories, promote cultural tourism, and project the country’s heritage on the global stage.
