FG signs execution contract with construction firms on Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan road, others

The federal government has signed execution contracts with four construction firms for the delivery of major road projects across the country, including the Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road linking Osun and Oyo states.

The agreements, signed Thursday at the Federal Ministry of Works headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja, cover strategic highway projects valued at over ₦690 billion.

Minister of Works, David Umahi, said the projects reflect the Federal Government’s commitment to infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Umahi described the roads as critical national infrastructure expected to improve transportation, boost economic activities and strengthen connectivity across the country.

Among the projects is the construction of the 73-kilometre Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Road, awarded to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited at a cost of ₦114.85 billion.

The Federal Government also awarded the construction of the Osogbo-Ikirun-Akoda Road in Osun State to Truecrete Solutions Limited for ₦101.8 billion.

Other projects include the reconstruction of the 122-kilometre Mando-Birnin Gwari Road in Kaduna State, awarded to Messrs J. Patel and Sons Nigeria Limited for ₦178.1 billion, and the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road spanning Oyo and Ogun states, awarded to JRB Construction Company Limited for ₦295.99 billion.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Umahi said the projects were designed to deepen economic growth and improve nationwide connectivity.
