FG to kick off local manufacturing of IVDs vaccine

The Federal Government has announced plans to begin domestic manufacture of in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs), generic pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biologics, and medical devices, which are vital to improving the health and well-being of all Nigerians
Minister of Health Ali Pate disclosed this development on Wednesday via his X account.
He explained that the measure is part of President Tinubu’s commitment to unlocking Nigeria’s healthcare value chains.
Pate also extended his gratitude to 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫, the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the 𝐁𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩. The minister also announced that the ministry will be partnering with the pharmaceutical company to produce IVDs vaccines in Nigeria.
He said, “Part of Mr President’s aim in approving the “Unlocking Healthcare Value-Chain’ Initiative”, as part of Nigeria’s Health Sector Renewal Programme, is to optimize end-to-end R&D pathways for addressing priority diseases in Nigeria.
“Today we were glad to receive 𝐌𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫, the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the 𝐁𝐢𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩, and discuss collaborative efforts to deliver on the Presidential directives, through rapidly stimulating local production of in vitro diagnostics and biologics in Nigeria.
