FG vows to hunt down killers of worshippers in Katsina

The Federal Government has condemned the killing of worshippers in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, vowing that those responsible will be tracked down and brought to justice.
In a statement on Friday, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, described the attack as “callous and barbaric,” insisting that security forces are already on the trail of the perpetrators.
“No stone will be left unturned until they are apprehended and held accountable for their actions,” the minister said. “Justice will be swift and decisive, and such acts of terror will never be allowed to take root in the country.”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his reaction, extended condolences to the victims’ families, the people of Malumfashi, and the Katsina State Government. He assured that the government stands with the community “at this dark hour,” praying for eternal rest for the deceased and strength for the bereaved.
The government noted that recent arrests of top terrorist leaders by Nigeria’s National Counter-Insurgency Centre — including Mahmud al-Nigeri of the Mahmuda group, his deputy Abu Abba, and Mahmud Muhammad Usman (Abu Baraa) of the Ansaru group — demonstrate the gains of ongoing security operations.
“These successes show that President Tinubu’s directive to crush terrorism is yielding results,” Idris stated. “Those who shed innocent blood will find no hiding place in Nigeria.”
