First batch of Sokoto pilgrims set to depart for 2025 Hajj

The first flight conveying pilgrims from Sokoto State for the 2025 Hajj is set to depart shortly, following the official flag-off of this year’s Hajj operations.
The flag-off ceremony was conducted on behalf of Governor Ahmad Aliyu by the Deputy Governor, Engineer Idris Muhammad Gobir. He was joined by the Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Ummarun Kwanon AA, alongside officials of various Hajj committees and key stakeholders from both state and federal agencies.

Pilgrims aboard the maiden flight are from eight local government areas, including Gwadabawa, Dange/Shuni, Tureta, Sabon Birni, Silame, Illela, Rabah, and Isa. They have commenced boarding and are bound for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to fulfill the sacred religious obligation.
The flight is scheduled for imminent departure.
