First Lady donates ₦40 million, food items to victims of Jigawa tanker explosion

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has donated ₦40 million and various food items to victims of the recent tanker explosion in Majiya village, Jigawa State.
The tragic incident, which resulted in significant loss of life and property, prompted the First Lady to extend her support to the affected community.
According to a statement by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, the donation was presented on her behalf by a delegation led by the Wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajia Fatima Tajudeen Abbass, at the Government House in Dutse.
While handing over the cheque and food items to the Wife of the State Governor, Hadiza Umar Namadi, the First Lady expressed her deep concern for the victims and assured the state government of her continued support and prayers.
Receiving the donations with gratitude, Governor of Jigawa State Mallam Umar Namadi assured the delegation that the funds would be judiciously used to assist the victims.
The Governor also appreciated President Tinubu for his prompt and fatherly response to the disaster, disclosing that some victims are already showing signs of recovery under medical care.
Describing the tanker explosion as a tragic event for the state, the Wife of the Governor, who received the items on behalf of the state government, characterized the First Lady’s visit and donation as a demonstration of motherly love, unity, and solidarity.
The delegation also visited the Rasheed Shekoni Federal University Teaching Hospital in Dutse, where some victims are currently receiving medical attention.
