Five APC aspirants reject Oyo House of Reps primary result

Five All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants in Oyo State have rejected the outcome of the party’s House of Representatives primaries, alleging widespread irregularities, intimidation, and manipulation across constituencies in the state.
The aspirants — Akeem Agbaje, Akeem Alao, Remi Olaniyan, Musibau Asanike, and Ololade Bakare — raised the concerns on Monday during a press briefing in Ibadan.
They claimed the primaries held across the 14 federal constituencies were marred by coercion, voter intimidation, arbitrary disqualification, and alleged falsification of results.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Akeem Alao said the process was compromised in several areas, including Akinyele/Lagelu and Oluyole constituencies, where they alleged that candidates were imposed against the will of party members.
According to them, the exercise created tension within the party and undermined internal democracy, warning that such practices could affect the APC’s strength ahead of future elections.
The aspirants also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC national leadership to intervene and ensure fresh, transparent, and credible primaries in Oyo State.
