FME introduces indefinite suspension for students involved in physical assaults
The Federal Ministry of Education has issued a circular outlining strict measures against physical assault in Federal Unity Colleges.
Signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Sanni Gwarzo, the circular addresses the growing concern over students inflicting bodily harm on their peers.
According to the circular, any student or group of students found guilty of physical assault resulting in bodily injury will face indefinite suspension from the college.
The new directive supplements existing punishments outlined in the Ministry’s approved Uniform Guidelines for Offences and Punishments.
The Ministry has instructed all principals of Federal Unity Colleges to enforce the policy and ensure strict compliance. They are also required to inform the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) members and parents of the new directive.
While emphasizing that the new punishment aims to curb violent behavior and promote a safer learning environment, the Honorable Minister extended warm regards to all school officials in the circular.
