Former Flying Eagles coach praises Lawal, Nnadi’s Super Eagles call-up

Former Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso has praised the inclusion of Salim Fago Lawal in the 28-man Super Eagles squad for the 2025 AFCON tournament in Morocco.
Lawal, who played under Bosso in the Flying Eagles team at the 2023 FIFA U20 tournament in Argentina, has been described as a pacy striker, strong and a clinical finisher inside the box.
“It is a welcome development. Fago Lawal is strong, fast, skillful, and a good finisher, especially in one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper. Give him a through pass, and he will hit the net,” Bosso said after the final list was made public.
“He is called the Bulldozer. His style of play earned him that nickname, and I am particularly happy to see players from the U-20 team making progress into the Super Eagles,” he added.
Bosso also praised coach Eric Chelle for including Tochukwu Nnadi in the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 AFCON tournament.
“Another welcome development is Tochukwu Nnadi. He is a very good midfielder. He was called the ‘Game Changer’ when he was in my Flying Eagles team.
“I remain optimistic that both Lawal and Nnadi will do well in the team. Benjamin Fredricks has already cemented his place in the team, but injury has prevented him from playing in his first AFCON tournament.
“So, three of my players have made the list,” he said.
