Forum of Accord Party State Chairmen dismisses rumoured suspension of national chairman

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
The Forum of Accord Party State Chairmen has dismissed reports claiming that the party’s national chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem, has been suspended, describing the story as fake.
In a statement released by the forum’s spokesperson and Ogun State chairman, Oke Rotimi, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo by the state chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, it was stated that those behind the narrative of Mgbudem’s suspension had been expelled from the party long ago for anti-party activities.
The forum noted that the party’s National Executive Committee had, on 3 December 2025, passed a vote of confidence on Mgbudem and the entire National Working Committee, reaffirming their leadership.
He said, “It should be noted that we had a National Executive Committee meeting on 3 December 2025, wherein a vote of confidence was passed on the national chairman as well as the entire National Working Committee. At no stage was there any form of disciplinary action against Mr. Mgbudem, as had been widely reported.
“Accord Party still remains a law-abiding and constitutionally guided party. No person can bring chaos among us via baseless allegations.”
The state chairman also clarified that Governor Ademola Adeleke formally joined the party on 6 November 2025 and was only publicly welcomed this month.
Akande said, “Governor Adeleke formally became a member of Accord on 6 November 2025. We officially received him into the fold on 9 December 2025, before he emerged as our party governorship candidate during the primary on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.”
