Former Oyo Immigration Comptroller, Dada Olutayo, dies at 58

The former Oyo State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration (ACGI) Dada Joseph Olutayo, is dead.

According to a statement issued by Mr. Joshua Dada on behalf of the family, ACGI Dada died on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness.

Until his passing, Dada had recently been promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration and served in various capacities within the service.

The statement read in part: “The family of Michael Dada Ogunremi of Ilesa, Osun State, announces with sorrow but gratitude to God the passing unto glory of Mr. Dada Joseph Olutayo (ACGI) after a brief illness. He was aged 58. He died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

“He was a former Oyo State Comptroller of Immigration Service and was recently promoted Assistant Comptroller General by the Immigration Service.”

He is survived by his wife, children, and other family members. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
