Former Rivers HoS accuses Governor Fubara of massive fund misappropriation

The former head of the Rivers state civil service, George Nwaeke, has accused the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of significant misappropriation of public funds.

During a press conference, Nwaeke described the scale of the alleged theft as “mind-boggling” and stated he would provide evidence to security agencies when needed.

Nwaeke, who recently resigned from his position, claimed that he witnessed a transaction involving a bag of money given to Fubara’s chief of staff for a nefarious operation, although he did not know the exact amount.

In response to these allegations, Fubara accused Nwaeke of being compromised and pressured to make false statements.

Following Nwaeke’s interview, his wife claimed he had been kidnapped and was speaking under duress. However, Nwaeke released a video asserting his safety and refuting her claims, stating he was not under any coercion when he made his allegations.

He expressed surprise that Fubara did not address the serious allegation of plotting to destroy the assembly, instead focusing on other issues.

Nwaeke maintained that he had never been compromised and suggested that his wife may have been threatened to make her statement. He emphasized his mental fitness and right to speak on matters related to the civil service.
