Frank Edoho opens up on emotional struggles, fear of dying from heartbreak

Popular television host, Frank Edoho, has spoken about his fears surrounding emotional trauma, saying he would not want a woman to be responsible for his death.

Edoho made the disclosure during an interview on the YouTube programme, Outside The Box, where he reflected on personal struggles, mental health and the pressures men face in silence.

The broadcaster, widely known for hosting the Nigerian edition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, said he hoped to be remembered for positively impacting lives rather than dying from heartbreak or emotional pain.

“I don’t want to go to the gates of heaven and they ask me what killed me and they say it’s a woman. Whether that woman be my daughter, my wife, my mother, I don’t want that. I don’t want that to be my way out of this portal,” Edoho said.

According to him, many men endure emotional and psychological challenges without speaking out, noting that society often expects them to suppress their pain.

Edoho revealed that he once went through a dark period that lasted about two years without confiding in anyone, describing it as a personal journey of rebuilding himself emotionally. He attributed his ability to hide emotional pain to his years in broadcasting, explaining that media professionals are trained to maintain composure regardless of personal difficulties.

The comments came amid renewed public attention on his private life following allegations made by his estranged wife, Sandra Onyenucheya, who accused him of infidelity, emotional abuse and financial recklessness.

Edoho had earlier denied the allegations and countered with claims of infidelity against Onyenucheya, stating that the couple had already been separated for nearly two years before the recent controversy resurfaced online.
