FRSC urges road users to exercise patience always

By Boye Oyeyemi –

The Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr Samuel Ibitoye, has called on motorists and other road users to exercise patience and respect officers on duty to ensure safer roads.

Ibitoye gave the charge on Thursday in Akure during the 2025 Customer Service Week celebration organised by the command with the theme “Mission Possible”.

He said the corps remained committed to advocacy, enforcement, engineering, and collaboration with stakeholders to prevent road crashes and protect lives.

“To all road users, please value the service we deliver and respect the officers on the roads because they are there to ensure crashes do not happen, and when they happen, they are there to rescue.

“Let patience be your watchword while behind the wheel or using the road as any type of road user,” he said.

The sector commander commended officers for their professionalism and urged them to remain focused on promoting road safety through enforcement and advocacy.

He also appealed to passengers to discourage speeding and avoid causing distractions to drivers.

Mr Tajudeen Kareem of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) and Mrs Betty Charles of Christ Embassy commended the FRSC for its dedication to saving lives and promoting discipline on Nigerian roads.
