FUNAAB Deputy Bursar, Omisope, emerges as BOUESTI Bursar
The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has announced the appointment of its Deputy Bursar I, Dr Margaret Omisope, as the second substantive Bursar of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In a statement, the acting head of FUNAAB’s Directorate of Public Relations, Olasunkanmi Olajide, described the appointment as recognition of Omisope’s professional competence, dedication to service and extensive experience in university financial administration.
Olajide said FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, had congratulated Omisope, describing her appointment as a well-deserved recognition of her years of dedicated service, professional achievements and commitment to excellence.
According to him, Kehinde expressed confidence that her experience, academic qualifications and administrative capacity would contribute to BOUESTI’s financial management and institutional development. He also urged her to uphold integrity, accountability and professionalism throughout her tenure.
Omisope joined FUNAAB in 1999 as an Accountant II in the Bursary Department and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Bursar I in 2024. During her career, she worked across various divisions of the department and served as acting managing director of UNAAB Microfinance Bank.
Academically, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ondo State University, now Ekiti State University, in 1998, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Ado-Ekiti, now EKSU, in 2003. She later earned a Master of Science degree in Accounting from Babcock University in 2022 and completed her PhD in Accounting at the same institution in 2026.
She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. She also obtained a certification from the Bureau of Public Procurement in 2013.
Omisope’s appointment is expected to bring her extensive experience and academic expertise to bear on BOUESTI’s financial administration and institutional development.
