Gbajabiamila tours N21bn State House clinic, rates facility world class

Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has praised the State House Medical Centre in Abuja as being of the highest calibre.

Gbajabiamila made the remark on Monday during a visit to the hospital during which he conveyed his pleasure with the clinic’s current situation.

In an interview with state house reporters, the former speaker of the house highlighted that the institution had kept its top-notch equipment and global standards.

The Chief of Staff demonstrated the cutting-edge medical technology, which included a cutting-edge Cath Lab and a special C-ARM.

Speaking further, Gbajabiamila said was pleased that the money that had been allotted to him as Speaker of the House of Representatives had been used wisely.

He said, ‘I am very impressed, and I’m sure you are as well because you went around with me. This is a clinic like anywhere in the world, you will find, the standard is very high.”

Chairman of Clinical Services at the State House, Jane Ifechukwu, clarified that the facility’s current status was skeletal, awaiting approval to be operationalised.

She explained, “What we have here is skeletal, just the way we were having the Villa Clinic. But once we dot the is, we can’t take decisions on our own; they give us the go-ahead, and we are good to go.”

Questioned about the timeline for the facility’s full utilisation, Ifechukwu indicated that decisions about pending approval were with higher authorities.
