Gbenga Daniel, Aregbesola, Mimiko pay homage to Olubadan-designate, Oba Ladoja

By Adejayan Gbenga –
Former governors of Ogun, Osun, and Ondo States — Senator Gbenga Daniel, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and Dr. Olusegun Mimiko — on Monday paid separate visits to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.
The trio described Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State and former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as a formidable figure whose contributions span both the business and political spheres.
They expressed confidence that his ascension as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland would further elevate the traditional institution in Oyo State and beyond.
Speaking during his visit, Senator Gbenga Daniel praised the monarch’s leadership experience, noting that it would be invaluable among traditional rulers.
“Oba Ladoja is expected to provide the desired leadership because of his maturity and experience. The entire nation is looking up to him to bring his wealth of knowledge to bear in his new role,” Daniel said.
Also speaking, former Ondo State governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko described Ladoja as a man of principle whose leadership had been tested in governance.
Aregbesola, the immediate past Minister of Interior and former governor of Osun State, clarified that his visit was purely to honour the traditional ruler.
“I am not here for any political reasons but to pay homage to Oba Ladoja and to wish him a successful reign as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he said.
In his remarks, Oba Ladoja called on politicians across party lines to set aside their differences and work together for Nigeria’s progress.
