Osun people ready to end PDP rule, says Oyebamiji

…promises to fix infrastructure deficits
By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has declared that the people of Osun are ready to end the rule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and return the APC to power in the 2026 governorship election.
Speaking at a media parley with journalists in Osogbo on Monday, Oyebamiji said the overwhelming support he received during consultations across the 21 local government areas he has visited shows that residents are fully prepared for a political shift.
The current Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) said he was encouraged by the level of grassroots mobilisation, stressing that APC members and supporters are determined to reclaim power.
“I have to tell you that I’m overwhelmed. I’m seriously encouraged by the preparedness of our people. They are ready to take government from the PDP back to the APC. They want that shift. I’ve seen that my people in the APC have worked so hard. They love AMBO, and they want AMBO to take over from the present government — and we won’t disappoint them,” he said.
Oyebamiji, a former Commissioner for Finance, further disclosed that his tour revealed widespread infrastructure deficits across the state, which he pledged to address if elected governor.
“I’ve moved around about twenty-one local governments to consult, and I discovered there are a lot of infrastructure deficits in Osun. I want the people of Osun to know that I’m going to address that,” he said.
He added that all APC aspirants have resolved to unite and support whoever emerges as the party’s flagbearer, in a joint effort to unseat the ruling PDP.
