Gombe APC endorses Tinubu for 2027, elects new state executives

The Gombe State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. The endorsement was announced on Tuesday during the party’s state congress held to elect new executives for the next four years.

The motion was moved by the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, and seconded by Hon. Abdullahi El-Rasheed, who represents Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency. It received overwhelming support through a voice vote by party members.

Addressing delegates, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya described the endorsement as a show of appreciation for what he called courageous and quality leadership at a time of economic and governance challenges in the country.

He said Gombe remained a stronghold of the APC, revealing that the state recorded over 400,000 registered members during the recent e-registration and membership revalidation exercise, ranking 10th nationwide. According to him, the figure reflects growing public confidence in the party at both state and federal levels.

“I am proud of what we have achieved over the years as a party and as a government. We have executed projects and implemented policies that have impacted lives, especially in underserved communities,” the governor said, adding that the Federal Government had consistently supported the state’s development efforts.

Yahaya assured the national leadership that the APC in Gombe was united and ready to secure victory at all levels in 2027. He also commended the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, for strengthening internal democracy and party cohesion.

Earlier, Chairman of the State APC Congress Committee, Dr. Danjuma Adamu Dabo, said the congress adopted a consensus approach, with all candidates screened and cleared by the national committee without objections.

The newly elected state chairman, Mr. Mohammed Dantata Ndus, described the congress as historic and pledged to work with party members to consolidate its structure and ensure future electoral success, while the outgoing chairman, Mr. Nitte Amangal, thanked stakeholders for their support during his tenure.
