Lagos APC: Obasa hails Ojelabi’s re-election as Chairman

…says party must remain model of progressive governance

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. (Hon.) Mudashiru Obasa, has urged the newly elected executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State to work collaboratively to consolidate the party’s achievements, deepen internal democracy, and strengthen unity among members.

Obasa said the APC in Lagos must continue to serve as a model of progressive governance and political stability in Nigeria.

The Speaker made the call while congratulating the newly elected executives of the APC, Lagos State Chapter, following the successful conduct of the party’s 2026 State Congress held on Tuesday.

Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi was re-elected as the Lagos APC Chairman for another term at the congress.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola, Obasa commended the peaceful and transparent manner in which the exercise was conducted. He described Ojelabi’s re-election as a clear reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in his leadership by party members across the state.

“Pastor Ojelabi has shown remarkable dedication and vision in steering the affairs of our party in Lagos. His return as chairman is a well-deserved recognition of his efforts to strengthen the APC and ensure its continued success,” Obasa said.

He further urged the new executives to remain committed to the party’s ideals and to prioritise unity and inclusiveness in their leadership.

Obasa also congratulated all delegates and stakeholders who participated in the congress, stressing that their commitment and active involvement remain vital to sustaining the party’s success in Lagos State.
