Gov AbdulRazaq donates buses to special needs, girls’ schools in Ilorin

By Mosunmola Ayobami, Ilorin –
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has demonstrated continued commitment to inclusive education by donating a new 32-seater Toyota Coaster bus to the School for Special Needs, Ilorin. The institution is the only public secondary school in the state dedicated to children requiring special education.
This donation builds on what school authorities described as a sustained pattern of support since the Governor assumed office in 2019. His administration has consistently prioritized the needs of underserved communities.
In a similar gesture, the Governor also presented another 32-seater Toyota Coaster bus to Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin — the premier girls-only secondary school in Kwara State.

The buses were handed over during separate visits to the two schools on Tuesday. According to officials, the gifts came as a surprise, though both institutions had previously requested assistance from the government.
The students, teachers, and school management expressed excitement and gratitude, applauding the Governor’s responsiveness and generosity.
Governor AbdulRazaq said the new buses would ease transportation challenges and contribute positively to the academic experience of the students.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing facilities that create a more conducive learning environment across public schools in the state.
Principals Alhaji Abdulganiyi Olododo (School for Special Needs) and Alhaja Rashidat Oluwakemi Abdul (Queen Elizabeth School) each praised the Governor’s continued support and appealed for additional assistance to further enhance learning in their schools.
