Gov Eno announces plans to set up creative village in Akwa Ibom

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced plans to establish a creative village for youths in the state.
The governor made this known recently while attending the Okon and Friends Live in Concert, organized by popular Akwa Ibom-born Nollywood actor and comedian Ime Bishop Umoh, popularly known as Okon Lagos, in Uyo.
According to Governor Eno, the plan to set up the creative village is aimed at harnessing and grooming young talents across various creative endeavors. “We will continue to work with our young people and support creativity and innovations that will positively promote and position them to accomplish more in life,” he assured.
Speaking further, the governor urged youths in the state to stand out in their respective careers through hard work, resilience, consistency, and creativity in order to make a global impact.
“One of the things that is not right with our young people today is that they don’t pursue their own paths; they want to run other people’s races. They are not consistent and tenacious enough in their chosen careers to make a huge difference,” he noted.
According to Governor Eno, the resilience of Okon Lagos over the past 25 years in his career has been remarkable. “You have been steady and focused on this career path; that’s why you are making an impressive impact in Nigeria and beyond,” he said.
Governor Eno added, “Our youths need to develop perseverance; they need to know what they want. Today, they start a career; tomorrow, they abandon it to start another one. They want everything and end up having nothing. Be focused and consistent to make a mark.”
He commended Okon Lagos for his doggedness and commitment to his chosen career, which, he said, has earned him phenomenal success.
