Gov Eno empowers 405 in Ukanafun, gets second term endorsement

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has empowered 405 constituents in the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency with business grants, vehicles, and equipment support during a Town Square meeting at QIC Central School, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ukanafun.
A total of 154 traders received grants, 116 farmers were supported, four individuals got N5 million each under the MSME grant, and 131 beneficiaries received equipment to boost their businesses and livelihoods.
Governor Eno urged beneficiaries to use the support judiciously, cautioning them against diverting the funds into Ponzi schemes or any unintended ventures. He reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots governance and inclusive development.

“This is a government of the people, for the people, and by the people,” the Governor said, adding that the Town Square initiative allows for direct engagement with citizens and ensures their needs are reflected in the 2026 budget.
He also inspected the ongoing construction of a general hospital in Ukanafun and directed the contractor to fast-track completion before September 2025.
Political leader and former House of Representatives member, Obong Eno Akpan, presented the constituency’s needs document and thanked the Governor for completed projects, pledging continued support beyond 2027.
Leaders from both the PDP and APC praised Governor Eno’s inclusive leadership. PDP State Chairman Elder Aniekan Akpan reaffirmed party support, while APC Deputy State Chairman Dr. Umo Essien declared cross-party admiration for the Governor’s style.
The event climaxed with a unanimous endorsement for Governor Eno’s second term, following a motion by Rep. Unyime Idem and seconded by Deputy Chief Whip Hon. Sampson Idiong.
