Gov Eno submits 27 Commissioner nominees to Akwa Ibom Assembly for screening
Governor Umo Eno has presented a list of 27 nominees for appointment as Commissioners and Special Advisers to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for confirmation.
In a letter dated February 10, 2025, addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, the governor thanked the 8th Assembly for its cooperation and cited Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution as the legal framework for the nominations.
The nominees were selected from various local government areas and include seasoned professionals, politicians, and technocrats.
The nominees are as follows:

Governor Eno urged the Assembly to expedite the confirmation process to enhance the state’s governance.
The confirmation hearings are expected to commence shortly, during which the Assembly will assess the nominees’ qualifications and suitability for office.
