Gov Eno to flag off key projects as part of anniversary celebrations

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced plans to inaugurate several landmark projects as part of activities marking his administration’s second anniversary in office.
Speaking during the May edition of the Government House Monthly Covenant Service held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, Governor Eno revealed that the projects to be flagged off include a 200-bed Ibom International Hospital, a 5,000-seater Ibom International Convention Centre, and a 200-bed Ibom Hotel.
The Governor also disclosed that an interdenominational thanksgiving service will be held on May 25, 2025, at the International Christian Worship Center to commemorate the anniversary. He described it as an opportunity for the state to gather in gratitude to God for His faithfulness over the past two years.
Eno, who is also a clergy, called on religious leaders and the “fathers of faith” to continue to pray for peace and good governance in the state. He urged them to refrain from meddling in politics and to stay focused on spiritual guidance for the overall benefit of the state.
On the state’s empowerment programmes, the Governor cautioned affluent residents against allowing their wards to participate in initiatives meant for the underprivileged. He encouraged those eligible and interested in government support and employment opportunities to register on designated state portals, noting that beneficiaries will be selected from the registered candidates.
Governor Eno further emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and unity across the state, urging citizens to avoid unnecessary speculation and political permutations, which he said could be counterproductive.
He concluded by appreciating all who participated in the May Covenant Service and wished everyone a happy new month.
Earlier, delivering a sermon titled “The God of Great Wonders”, drawn from Psalm 77:14–20, Primate Emeritus of the African Church, Emmanuel Udofia, described God’s wonders as divine acts that transcend natural laws. He urged Christians to remain steadfast in faith, especially in difficult times, trusting in God’s power to perform miracles.
