Governor Adeleke not defecting to any party — Spokesperson

Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has debunked media reports suggesting that the governor is planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to another political party.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Rasheed described the speculation as “fake news,” reaffirming that Governor Adeleke remains a committed and loyal leader of the PDP in Osun State.

The spokesperson, who faulted the media speculation about an imminent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), said, “Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is not defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party to any political party. He remains a bona fide member and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.”

“The visit by the Adeleke dynasty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a routine courtesy visit. Any reading of a defection agenda into the visit is mere fake news,” the statement clarified.
