Governor Adeleke says performance in office qualifies him for second term

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo –
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that his performance in office over the past three and a half years makes him deserving of a second term as governor.
Adeleke made the declaration on Wednesday while hosting members of the Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Osun Council, at the Government House in Osogbo. He asserted that his administration has successfully delivered on the promises made to the people since assuming office in 2022.
The governor said his administration has recorded significant progress across key sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, workers’ welfare, health, education, and the digital economy, while also strengthening community development initiatives and improving public finance management.
He emphasised that his administration has adhered to due process in governance, ensured equitable allocation of infrastructure, and promoted judicious handling of state finances through verifiable projects and programmes.
Adeleke commended the Ansar-ud-Deen Society for its dedication and cooperation with the government, assuring that the administration would not take its support for granted.
The governor also pledged government backing for the society’s proposed mosque project, directing the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Aderibigbe Rasheed, to liaise with the group to foster a productive partnership and make the project a reality.
Earlier, the Secretary of the society, Akande Hafiz Olakunle, appealed to the governor to support the construction of a new central mosque, explaining that the ongoing road dualisation project had affected the existing Ansar-ud-Deen Central Mosque.
He added that the society had secured another parcel of land for the new mosque but considered it necessary to seek the governor’s approval and support before commencing the project.
