Governor Alia rallies APC members for Tinubu, pledges to unite aggrieved aspirants

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to turn out in large numbers to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Alia made the appeal on Thursday after participating in the gubernatorial direct primaries held at RCM Primary School, Ihugh, headquarters of Mbadede Council Ward.

He stated that President Tinubu deserved re-election to consolidate what he described as his developmental strides, including expanded infrastructure projects, renewed economic reforms, investment attraction efforts, job creation initiatives, improved security measures, and strengthened governance.

The governor also pledged to reach out to aggrieved party members and aspirants who lost out in the senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly primaries, urging them to remain united within the party.

According to him, such reconciliation efforts were necessary to ensure unity and strengthen the APC ahead of future elections from the grassroots to the national level.

He expressed satisfaction with the turnout during his own election, describing it as a strong mandate to pursue the priorities of the people.

“I can assure you that by the time I am through with my eight years in office, Benue will become a state everyone would want to visit,” he said.

“What you have seen is not even a quarter of what I have in store for the state. I started from ground zero and had to lay some very solid foundations,” he added.
