Governor Eno urges Akwa Ibom diaspora to support ARISE Agenda

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has called on indigenes of the state in the diaspora to actively support the implementation of his administration’s ARISE Agenda.
Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Health, Safety and Environment, Mrs. Jayne Ufot, the governor addressed members of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (AKISAN), Calgary Branch, during their annual gala and fundraising event on July 19, 2025.
Governor Eno said the state remains open to partnerships with the diaspora to attract investments, harness specialized skills, and promote backward integration to strengthen development across key sectors.
He noted that within two years, the state had made strides in agriculture, healthcare, education, security, infrastructure, and rural development, and is now focused on diversifying its economy through investments in tourism, digital innovation, and the blue economy.
Highlighting the progress of Ibom Air, the governor revealed the acquisition of two CRJ 900 Bombardier aircraft and an Airbus A220-300, and urged Akwa Ibom indigenes abroad to support the airline and broader development efforts.
Eno described Akwa Ibom as the safest and most event-friendly state in the country and invited the diaspora to return home and witness ongoing transformations in a secure and welcoming environment.
He also unveiled the development of a 70-acre family-themed resort on reclaimed erosion-prone land, featuring a golf course, artificial lakes, chalets, banquet hall, restaurants, and a children’s playground.
Other projects include an international convention center, shopping mall, 350-bed specialist hospital, a world-class elderly care facility, and the Arise Care medical insurance scheme, which has so far enrolled over 30,000 vulnerable residents free of charge.
