Oyo Speaker mourns passing of Eruwa Chief Imam, pays tribute

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has mourned the passing of the Chief Imam of Eruwaland, Sheikh AbdulKareem Abdulsalam Olore, who died on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the age of 84.
In a condolence message, Ogundoyin described the cleric’s death as a profound loss to Eruwa, the Muslim community, and Oyo State as a whole, noting that Sheikh Olore was a spiritual icon and a pillar of unity.
He praised the late Imam’s dedication to the growth of Islam and his role as a father figure and moral compass within the community, stating, “Baba Olore was a man of peace, wisdom, and deep humility.”
The Speaker highlighted the Imam’s key role in resolving a long-standing leadership crisis over the Chief Imamship of Eruwa, applauding his maturity, patience, and unwavering commitment to harmony and faith.
Ogundoyin urged the people of Eruwa and the wider Ibarapa region to emulate the values Sheikh Olore stood for—peace, devotion, and community service.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the cleric’s family, the Muslim Ummah of Eruwa, and the entire Ibarapa land.
“Baba Olore lived a life devoted to Allah and humanity. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljanah Firdaus,” Ogundoyin prayed.
