Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated former governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi on his 61st birthday, describing him as a rare gift to Ekiti, Nigeria, and the global community.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Oyebanji praised Fayemi’s contributions to the development of Ekiti, noting that his leadership helped position the state prominently both within and outside the country.
The governor thanked God for granting Fayemi long life and good health, saying his continued relevance as a statesman remains beneficial to the state’s growth.
Oyebanji said Fayemi’s achievements at a relatively young age reflect divine grace and a life devoted to service and excellence.
He added that history would remember the former governor for using public office to serve humanity selflessly at the state, national, and international levels.
The governor described Fayemi as a mentor, role model, and strong believer in the Ekiti project, whose ideas continue to inspire younger generations.
Oyebanji commended Fayemi for his continued support and counsel to the state, praying that God would grant him good health and wisdom as he contributes further to nation-building.
