Veteran Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Jimmy Jatt, has shared his harrowing health struggles over the past four years.

In a recent TV program, DJ Jimmy Jatt recounted how he lost his sight in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown and later battled chronic kidney disease, eventually overcoming both challenges.

The iconic DJ revealed that his health issues began during the lockdown, culminating in the loss of his vision. He underwent successful eye surgery to restore his sight. However, shortly after, he was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, requiring dialysis and ultimately a kidney transplant in 2022.

He admitted that lifestyle changes he made in 2019 might have contributed to his health challenges.

“I decided to spend more time outside Nigeria. I wanted to explore Europe, America, and other parts of the world after living all my life in Lagos,” he explained.

After his eye surgery, DJ Jimmy Jatt relocated to the United States to undergo dialysis treatments. He later returned to Nigeria for a kidney transplant.

Following the successful transplant, he took time off to fully recover before resuming his career in 2024.
