I can’t marry a man who lives on the mainland, says BBNaija’s Doyin
Reality TV show star Doyin David has stressed that she can not marry a man who lives in the Mainland area of Lagos State.
The ex-housemate of BBNaija made this known in a recent chat with Isabella on a popular TV show, Rubbing Minds.
She stressed that any man that wants to marry her must relocated to the Island where they can both live a comfortable live and raise kids.
“I want a man that is considerate, kind, giving because I am not about that broke life, that is just the truth. I don’t have issues with people living on the mainland. If I have to date any man and he lives on the mainland, he would have to move to the Island just because that is where I live and everything I do revolves around the Island. He will definitely have to move to the Island because I can’t move to the mainland, that is just me and if he wants someone that lives on the mainland. He has to move to the Island. If he can’t, he can find himself another woman because that is not just me. We are going to have to find somewhere that is central for both of us because most of the things or almost everything I do is on the Island. It would be strange for me to now pack up my whole life and just move to the mainland just because I am getting married.”
Continuing, the 27-year-old said, “I am not going to do that and that is not because I don’t respect my husband but let’s do something that works for both of us. So if we can find a middle ground somewhere that is easily accessible for him and I, great but I am not looking to marry the richest man, no.
“I think being rich is comfortable for me. Let’s be able to give ourselves and our kids the fine things of life. I want my kids to be exposed, I want them to travel, it’s more than just providing food, I want them to travel business class, I want them to see that their parents can give them the good things life can offer. One of my biggest goals in life is to ensure that my daughter never dates anybody because of what they can give to her because her parents have already given that to her. I want to give my kids the life my parents gave to me, my parents a very comfortable life, we didn’t have to suffer, we could travel, we could do things, so that is what I want to give to my kids, that is what I am used to and I am not going to settle for a man that can not give us that because apart from him, I am also going to be working. I have already said I am never going to be a stay at home wife, I would work, I would contribute but both of us as a collective have to give our kids a good life.”
