Ibadan chief, Sanusi donates ₦10m to Bode Market fire victims

The Okanlomo Oodua and Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has donated ₦10 million to traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at Bode Agbo Market in Ibadan.
The donation was announced on Saturday following reports that the inferno destroyed goods and properties belonging to many traders in the market.
According to information made available to journalists, the donation was conveyed through the Iyaloja, Saratu Aduke, who visited the scene of the incident on behalf of the philanthropist.
Sanusi, who is currently outside Nigeria, was said to have sympathised with the victims through delegates, extending his condolences to those affected by the disaster.
Describing the fire as a painful loss, the Ibadan chief said many of the victims depended on the market for their daily livelihood and prayed for strength and comfort for them during the difficult period.
As part of his intervention, he announced a ₦10 million donation to provide immediate relief and support for the affected traders as they begin rebuilding their businesses.
Sanusi also appealed to well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations and other public-spirited Nigerians to support the victims, noting that collective assistance would help ease their hardship and restore hope.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the people and urged residents to continue supporting one another in times of need, stressing that compassion and unity remain vital in overcoming adversity.
