By Adejayan Gbenga
The Oyo State Government has appealed for calm over the ongoing boundary dispute between Oyo and Osun States.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the government noted that both state governors—Engr. Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Sen. Ademola Adeleke of Osun—are cooperating fully with the National Boundary Commission (NBC) to ensure an amicable resolution.
The government urged stakeholders on both sides to refrain from trading blame and to allow the two state governments to engage in mature and constructive dialogue toward resolving the land dispute.
Commissioner Oyelade cautioned the public against making inflammatory or hostile statements, noting that such remarks are harmful and a distraction to the ongoing peace process.
He assured residents that a peaceful and mutually beneficial resolution will be reached in due course.
