The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Folajimi Oyekunle, has officially joined the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), signaling a key political shift ahead of the 2027 general elections in Oyo State.
The announcement was made by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Akinwale Bodija, who confirmed the defection following recent political engagements involving former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers and a strategic visit to a governorship candidate linked to Governor Seyi Makinde.
Bodija disclosed that Oyekunle, popularly known as “DON”, has now been fully registered as a member of the APM after consultations with political associates, supporters, and stakeholders across Ibadan North.
He described the move as a strategic step aimed at strengthening people-focused representation in the constituency.
According to him, the lawmaker will, in the coming days, begin a large-scale mobilisation campaign to sensitize constituents on his new political platform and direction.
